Ophcrack is a popular password cracking tool that is used to crack Windows operating system password. This tool uses rainbow-table based cracking mechanism and itself runs on Windows, Linus and Mac.

Some nice features of this password cracking include LM and NTLM hash cracking, a GUI, the ability to load hashes from encrypted SAM recovered from a Windows partition, and a Live CD version.
