Ettercap is also a popular packet sniffer that is used for man in the middle attack over the LAN. This nice sniffing tool is able to sniffing of live connections, content filtering on the fly and many other interesting tricks. It supports active and passive dissection of many protocols and includes many features for network and host analysis.
It runs on various Unix-like operating systems including Linux, Mac OS X, BSD and Solaris. It also supports Microsoft Windows operating system.
